Posted on 23 June 2009

Theatre and Hip Hop culture come together to speak from and for the many silenced voices of the past, present and future sheroes. Artists from Jamaica, Sri Lanka, India, Pakistan, St. Vincent, Eritrea, Guyana, Colombia and Canada open a space for dialogue about womyn’s role in Hip Hop and in the world at large, beginning with stories from the womb and journeying through childhood, adolescence, to becoming a woman.
Three Dollars and Six Dimes was created through the Colombian Collective Creation approach where free improvisations are used to uncover the collective unconscious voices of a particular group. No theme is imposed but rather it emerges through a discovery and analysis of the chain of actions of each story.
