Isabela Solis Lozano
Isabela Solis-Lozano is a Peruvian-born, Canadian-raised emerging theatre director and playwright. Recent credits include directing and producing CanLit Can Suck It! (Art Apart, National Theatre School of Canada) and co-creating Grocery Store (Ottawa Fringe) as a part of the “Under Development” program for the UnderCurrents 2021/22 Festival.
When she is not working as an artist, Isabela also works as an arts manager at various arts-based non profits in Toronto where she has worked in fields such as volunteer management, arts education, fundraising, research, outreach, and festival / event production. She has a Bachelor of Arts with a double major in English Literature and Theatre from the University of Ottawa, as well as a Graduate Certificate in Arts Management from Centennial College.
Isabela is an avid storyteller and is particularly interested in sharing stories about femininity, families, the Latin American diaspora, and the nebulous concept of identity.
