Sofia Rodriguez

Sofia Rodriguez was born and raised in the City of Mountains: Monterrey, Mexico.

She is a Dora-nominated actor, creator and collaborator based in Toronto. Her recent stage work includes: ‘Mi casa de incienso’(Soulpepper), mientras tanto//缺口, The Solitudes (Aluna/ Nightwood Theatre), Beautiful Man (Factory Theatre), Shadow Girls (Pencil Kit), Communist Manifesto For Children(Rhubarb), Anato/mía (Rhubarb). Short films: Love You to Death and Diferente (Inside Out Festival) The Morning After (Inside Out/ LA Outfest).

Alongside Liz Der, they have been working under the name of Mala Theatre Collective since 2019 and have created and performed ‘mientras tanto//缺口’ together for the 2020 Rhubarb Festival. Most recently, Mala produced ‘Mi casa de incienso’ for Soulpepper’s first ever Queer Youth Cabaret.
