Sol, Luna & Stella

Chameleon Productions

Wednesday, October 9, 2019

Daniels Spectrum

evening program runs 90 mins

Sol, Luna and Stella are three sisters who become family by necessity when Sol and Luna’s biological mother is deported back to Columbia, and they are adopted into the White family, a single mother and her young daughter, Stella. When the matriarch of the White family passes away, she leaves her three young daughters orphans, two of them for the second time. Sol, Luna & Stella explores the loss of the mother figure, Catholicism, the consequences of the USA’s family separation policy, and cultural identity of first-generation children. How does political and historical circumstance affect three women differently, and how do they learn to define the bonds of family?
