The feminine universe of the Mayan people is the inspiration for Del Manantial del Corazón (The Spring of the Heart). This intimate piece invites the public to participate in the ceremony of Hetzmek (Mayan baptism), an ancestral rite of passage that contemporary Mayans practice to this day. Acclaimed director Conchi León documented the testimony of women living in Indigenous villages throughout the State of Yucatan to create this sensitive and surprising experience that celebrates life, while also necessarily reflecting on death.
