Factory Theatre – 125 Bathurst St

The Canadian Latinx Theatre Artist Coalition (CALTAC) is thrilled to announce its third Coyuntura, a National Canadian Latinx Theatre Artists Gathering, which will take place for the first time in Toronto from September 27-29, 2024. This landmark event, organized in partnership with Aluna Theatre, will be held at the renowned Factory Theatre.

Coyuntura serves as a dynamic platform dedicated to celebrating, connecting, and amplifying Latinx voices in the performing arts in Canada. This year’s gathering promises to be an inspiring convergence of talent, culture, and creativity, featuring a rich lineup of workshops, panel discussions, and networking opportunities, while we share our traditional café con chisme, adding some tamales and guided by the theme West meets East: Intercambiando Saberes.

All proceeds from ticket sales will be donated to The Freedom Theatre. The Freedom Theatre is a theatre and cultural centre in Jenin refugee camp, occupied Palestine. You can read more about them here https://thefreedomtheatre.org/

Highlights of Coyuntura 2024 include:

  • Interactive workshops designed to foster artistic growth and professional development on the playwriting and production sides.
  • Panel discussions addressing key issues facing the Latinx artistic community, such as representation, inclusion, equity and ideas on how to grow together as a community. Networking events aimed at building lasting connections and collaborations among artists, industry professionals, and cultural leaders

The Factory Theatre, known for its commitment to diverse and innovative programming, provides the perfect backdrop for this groundbreaking event. Attendees can expect a weekend filled with thought-provoking performances, engaging discussions, and a vibrant celebration of Latinx culture.
