Dividing Lines | Líneas divisorias
November 18, 2018 – December 2, 2018
The Theatre Centre, 1115 Queen St. West
75 minutes
They say blood is thicker than water –
I say, love is thicker than blood.
How do you make a decision about dying?
We never want to imagine a day when we might not be able to walk, talk, or make decisions for ourselves. As Canada engages in a debate about euthanasia and changes to Bill C-14, Dividing Lines invites us to look at the choices around ending a life through the lens of a real human experience.
This performance places individual choice in the context of the history of a continent. Moving from personal to political to spiritual, this daring, live photo-essay offers no easy answers.
Pizano is an engaging and passionate performer who radiates love… At its heart, the play confronts illness and dying, especially regarding the people we love. “Nothing prepares us,” says Pizano. But theatre like this sure can help.” -Debbie Fein-Goldbach, NOW Magazine
