The Tarot Show
Camila Diaz-Varela
The Tarot Show is a modular music and theatre performance that transmits fantasies about power, enlightenment, and transformation. The audience is invited into a world where seeds talk and change is a friend. The Tarot Show asks, how do we live in a dying world and not give up?
Artist Statement:
My art practice is guided by my impact on my community and my environment. Because of where I stand, I see possibilities of reconfiguring perceived social barriers and borders between people. I want to use my biculturalism as my power to create space for dynamic dialogue about our cultural imaginations, our lands, and our futures. This show is an opportunity for me to explore personal archetypes and power songs that help me embrace change, which is vitally necessary if we are going to birth a world that is better for all of us.
