Workshop: MINDFULNESS FOR PERFORMERS with Imogen Quest
MINDFULNESS FOR PERFORMERS with Imogen Quest is a 2 hour workshop discovering the pleasure of pretend in performance.
In clowning, we talk a lot about “finding pleasure to play the game”, but how do we generate the pleasure to play and be present when we are constantly plagued by stress and pressures on and off stage? It is vital for performers to not only connect with themselves but with their audience. Being present during a performance, allows us to be open to the possibility of change when things don’t go as planned.
In this workshop, we will explore meditation, breathing, and movement exercises to help you move with subtlety and intention through your art practice. Together we will work on calming the mind to be able to connect and play with yourself, your work, and your audience.
Note: Movement is minimal, suitable for all bodies and abilities.
Date and Time: Wed Jan 27, 6-8pm
* Limited capacity – registration is required for this workshop. Registration now full, add your name to waitlist here.
